The secret is to keep on ordering things so you have something arrive in the mail every day...; )

Yep, waiting for anything I've ordered to show up is torture. But especially shaving-related items.

When you can't wait to use something new, it seems to take forever to arrive.

It will be there before you know it. By this time next week the novelty will have worn off and you'll be looking to satiate your next round of AD.

Gentlemen - he's further gone than we thought. He's already in denial and rationalizing his razor purchases.... clear signs of an AD.

I hate waiting on the postal system. I have 6 razors enroute to me right now and every day I check the mailbox and every day I get dissapointed.

that is when it starts. Life was easy and simple when it was 1 razor. Then Number 2 arrives and things start to change, You find yourself surfing the classifieds daily, straight razor search is saved to youre bay profile, the local Antique shop owners know you by name and before you blink it is 16. Then you find yourself waiting for 6 razors to arrive.

Somewhere around 5-9 razors something else happens....You realize for the number of razors you own it would be more cost effective to buy some stones and learn to hone your own razors....HAD does not start with 2. You are screwed with this one right out of the gate. 1k for bevel, 4k/8k and then a finisher maybe a cheap C12k, But then you see a ebay listing for a COTI. Hmm what was that I heard about COTI stones and the shape of the crystals and how smooth they shave. Once you experience that then you have to compare that to a NN 12k finisher, oh and those JNATS you saw too.....

Oh did we mention SAD. Yeah that starts with the 2nd strop as well. You know that 1 lonely piece of hide hanging in your man cave, may have a nick or two and then one day you wonder if maybe a nicer strop will help the shave. So you go for a nice 3" Bridle one with some hardware that shines. Oh oh, that number 2 leads to...I wonder if Latigo is better or as nice, then you wonder what all the buzz about Kanagroo is, Cordovian you say and Horsehide?....Then you realize you do not have a black one yet....Next thing you know your buying a router and table to make a custom board to ahnd these 6 strops from....

The only thing saving me from BAD is the SAD, HAD and RAd has left me to broke to get BAD

The way to avoid it is just continually buy razors and you get a surprise in the mail everyday when you get home from work.

One surprise. Or ten. Or you magically win in an auction where you can't for the world remember bidding in, since you promised the missus that the house wouldn't be strewn with razors for at least two weeks...

johnmrson and kentos hit the nail on the head. The best medicine for ADs are to have daily arrivals. This way, Sunday is the only sad day. Unless of course you hit the antique stores on Sundays.

I decided its full AD its they wait between paying for something and having the object in my possession. When i got the initial gear i paid the extra 20$ to get it to me a week sooner. It boggles my mind tho why it takes so long for a package to travel a distance i could of driven round trip in a day..:S
