Default Post your pictures- Made in the USA

Time for a new round of show and tell folks! This time it is your chance so show us all some American steel. Let's see your razors that were "Born in the USA".

I'll start with this one which I got recently. It is an R. Heinisch, Newark N.J. made some time between 1829 and 1874.

I really like the lines of the blade, and the horn scales have been super polished with bees wax.

    Over to you guys....

    Shumate 5/8

    Watervilles

    Square point 5/8

    A 5/8 and a 11/16 barbers notch rescaled in G10

    I think that's it.

An American Knife Co from Plymouth Conn. 5/8 quarter hollow oblique point. Rescaled at some point with bakelite; I should really make some blond horn scales though.

The hard thing for me, is that many razors imply USA, but are actually the name of the importer, such as this one (Using this post from SRP):

Let me know if any aren't made in USA and I'll try and edit the post?

    thanks,

    11/16 Robeson ShurEdge

    8/8 Alex Jacques

In this picture is my Robert Williams Purist and 11/16 rescaled Geneva Pyramid in jade G10. The Hess and C-Mon are technically german blades imported to the American market.

I've passed most of my american made razors on to new homes. Here is my sole keeper:

    5/8 Electric Cutlery, Newark N.J.

Very nice pictures gentlemen. I am noticing a trend, though. It seems like the vintage American-made razors do not come with jimps. I wonder why that is? Anyone have an American razor with jimps?

Nice Torrey those scales are great!

How's the purist shave? They look quite weighty.

The 2 blue Watervilles have lower jimps as does the Shumate.

Thanks for the update, Wid. I couldn't tell if those razors had bottom jimps or not.

Here's mine, not clearly stating it's American, I'm fairly sure it is. Key City Cutlery Co.

Luc, are those scales original? They look like they are made from a 1970's skateboard!
