A question for Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor brush owners - regarding gold paint

Guys,

I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on one of these, and I could not be more thrilled with it. Nitpicker that I am, though, I'm a little bothered by some of the gold paint being absent from the engraved letters on the brush. Do you think I would have favorable results from repainting the letters with Testors gold enamel model paint? Not having seen the gold letters in their brand-new-glory, I don't know if the Testors would be an accurate match.

I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have on this.

I think Testors paint is more expensive than the original paint. It could be more accurate.

If you apply the Testor's paint, make sure you wipe off the surplus asap. If the paint contains some solvent, it might slightly attack the plastic of the handle. Look for some water-based acrylic paint.
