    Default Don't be impatient/stupid!

My TTO was stuck (silo doors wouldn't open because bottom knob wouldn't turn), and I was soaking it in alcohol and hot soapy water in turns, but I did't want to wait any longer, so I applied some force to it with pliers and voila! I broke it! Who could've seen that coming? So in order to keep my stupidity from being repeated, here are pictures!

DON'T BE STUPID!!! (like I was!)

P.S.- In order to not be any more wasteful, if anyone would like the razor (either for spare parts or if you think you can fix it) she's all yours! Super generous, I know, but I'm just that nice of a guy!

Sorry to hear of your predicament.

I've had a similar problem and am now a convert to pentrating oil. See my story about a stuck #22 here.

Looks like the only thing you did was pop the end off that screw. Should be able to get it drilled out and find another (reverse thread) to stick in there.

If this were my regular shaver I might drill it out, but I'm shaving with straights these days, the TTO was kinda a impulse buy/clean/break... Thanks for the idea though!

    Well that's the pits!

Hammers, and especially a bigger hammer won't work on razors either. Just guessing, no experience.

I would be interested in taking it. I would love to try to learn how to work on these razors. What better way to learn than on one thats already broken?

Hey no problem, I was probably just going to break it more anyway.

Bummer. I had the same problem with my Super Speed at first. I put it in hot soapy water and walked away for 10 minutes, took it out, dried it, and has worked fine since. Thanks for the pics, though.
