The Ink has a very nice flow as you can see the lines it draws are thick. The color is very nice.

Noodlers Blue Black.

This is my favorite, it displays a beautiful color and draws a very nice line, not too thick.

Acetone Test
I added a Lamy Blue Black Swab sample. It’s the one next to the Acetone tin.
Looks like acetone hardly has any ill effects on the Inks.

Industrial Heavy Duty Orange Degreaser. This stuff is strong. The container says to dilute it but I put it on at 100 Percent Strength.

Sun Time with orange degreaser.

After about 30 minutes of dry time the only one that could not take the punishment was the Lamy Black.
I know what Inks I’m sticking with.

I hope its good enought to make it a sticky :wink2: :w00t:

Is the Lamy blue black from the carts or bottle? Just wondering because they're different.

It actually doesn't look like their blue black, which is grayer.

Hi, yest the Lammy ink sample came from the free ink cartridge that came with a Lammy Al Star. I think it's Blue Black but It could just be Blue. I did the same test a few days ago with the free Blue Black Ink cartridge that came with my waterman. Same results, the ink did not hold up.

Thanks, I was hoping it was the cartridge ink. For check writing I use the bottle version Lamy blue-black which is an iron-gall ink, much more permanent I think.

I would be interested in the acetone test on that stuff, maybe I'll try doing it.

Great review.

From what I noticed Acetone really has no effect on the Inks. The acetone I had was about a year old. You may wanna try using some strong degreaser. I have Orange Multipurpose degreaser. you can probably get some a Lowes or home depot. the stuff I have is made by a company that manufactures soap. they are in my city so I have easy access to it.

Terrific review Altair, thank you very much. I am looking for a vivid green and blue and this helps a lot.
And I especially enjoyed your clear penmanship. It makes me want to improve mine.

I did not explain it before I just updated the original post. At the bottom of each review there is a 300 DPI Link. Click it, it will take you to the Image then click on the close up loop that appears on the top right of the image. It will show a close up of the color and ink coverage.

I highly recommed you take a close up look at the swabs in this mode.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

Hi,
Thanks for the great review. How much time did you allow the ink to dry before you started bathing them in acetone, degreaser etc...?

Thanks.

Great reviews! Did you just hit them with plain water? I've noticed that Bad Belted Kingfisher is kind of weird when it gets wet. I guess it is supposed to be tamper evident, but that means that while the core stays, lots of the color seems to smear...

I let the ink dry for 30 minutes in the sun, very hot day in California.

If you notice in the first picture the first thing I hit them with was acetone, with no ill effect, then I hit it with orange degreaser, that did cause some of the inks to run. but none of the noodlers completely came off.

Thanks to all for your kind words.
