Default Geocaching - careful where you put 'em!

    BBC news report

Small town in the north of England brought to a halt for the bomb disposal people to blow up a geocache!

Personally in these dangerous times, I can't understand why a cacher would hide his cache in the centre of a touristy area full of cafes and shops.

I've seen caches that were placed in specific areas by tourist promotion agencies to get people to check out an area,I can imagine if things like this keep up caches will have to be registered with the local police or something.

It seems like this happens a couple times a year here state side also. I know when I found my first cache I thought it was a bomb. Ammo can out in the middle of the desert (where now is very well known human smuggling area, back then only slightly if that) stuffed into a tree about eye level!
