It's nice. I still prefer the regular scent but vanilla is a nice change.

It's a keeper. If you're new to wetshaving, you might as well start working your way through the Pinauds. Clubman, Clubman Special Reserve, Vanilla and Lilac Vegetal are all winners in my book. The Eau de Portugal and Eau de Quinine are advertised as hair tonic, but they are excellent aftershaves too. I like Citrus Musk too--good scent like clean laundry. I don't think that the regular lime is very good and I've actually never tried the musk. But you can't go wrong by experimenting with them.
i recently ordered the vanilla, the classic, and the vegetal. i like the vanilla by far the most. it's a great scent, not really vanilla, but a nice clubman base with a sweetness that is hard to describe, but i love it. i'm about to go wash the vegetal off my face, it smells like a wet diaper.

I have a sample of the Vanilla. I quite like it. I have been wearing it as a cologne thought, not as an aftershave splash: original Clubman contains no glycerin, so it doesn't do much in terms of skin treatment as an aftershave; I assume the Clubman Vanilla is also glycerin free.

I don't think that any of the Pinauds have anything in them other than fragrance, water and alcohol (plus whatever deadly stuff they put in there to bind it all together, keep it from going off, etc.). I don't really find that an issue, but if you do, I think you've got the right approach. If I'm using Clubman or its kin, I just splash it on after the shave and pass on any cologne.
Another plugger of the Vanilla. One of the best Pinaud scents IMO
Best,
Mike
I always use a witch hazel splash prior to any aftershave, so it's probably a non-issue anyway. I just hesitate to call something an aftershave (despite how it might be labeled) that is only fragrance, water, and alcohol. It's not really an aftershave in my mind without the presence of glycerin, or propylene glycol.

I would like to find some Lilac Vegetal, but I can't seem to find it in any stores near me. Aside from ordering online, does anyone know where I can find the vegetal and some of the other more interesting Pinaud aftershaves?

well you guys talked me into trying the vanilla...I like all the clubmans and pinauds so far except not that crazy for the Pinaud Veg...someone said diaper, yes sir, I agree...I witch hazel before AS and once set I finish with Nivea balm...tones down the scent a bit, moisturizes and seems to prolong the glow...
I 'm in Conventional Cursive Correction...I didn't even know there was a law...!
I got some at Merz last Chicago trip, and it just unseated Pinaud Clubman as my favorite scent. I get compliments on it from the ladies!

Beastman, the Classic Vanilla is top shelf, for me right up there with Clubman and Citrus Musk.
Zarba, you should make a trip to Atlanta Barber & Beauty Supply, where you'll find Pinaud/Master/Lucky Tiger nirvana (some by the gallon, if you're so inclined) and more. They also carry Arko soap and Derby creams (though I couldn't find them on the website).
