Both are supposedly made to the same specs but in different countries.

The Blues are made by PPI in St. Petersburg Russia and the Blacks are made in India.

Both are fantastic long lasting blades for me.

I don't feel a difference between the two but as always YMMV.

If you would like a pack of Blues PM me and I will send you some to try.

Russian blues - Made in Russia so probably caked with stupid glue spots

Indian blacks - glue spots, but nowhere near as gratuitous.

    That's probably the only difference.

That's pretty much it. Both are fantastic blades.

I find both of them to inherently be the same. Super smooth and very sharp although I have no comment on longevity yet as I am currently trying both of these out at 3 shave a piece in my slant EJ89 and slim adjustable. Slim adjustable is the last razor to try them in..... Might have my made in heaven blade (fingers crossed)

I find the Blues to be much better than the blacks. To me, the blacks are harsh and don't last long. The blues have been smoother and last longer, but for my setup still are not as good as the yellows or Bleue Extras.

I haven't tried the blues - but the blacks are harsh for me. They were probably the only blade I have ever tried that after three attempts with new blades gave up on them. Now the Russian Yellows, they are great IMO.

I think the blue ones are the best.

The blue ones last twice as long. The blacks are available for a lower price, however, so they are still cost-effective.

Well, I just had my second shave on a black and I love it so far. I need to keep going with it, but since some of you do feel a difference I'm going to get both.

You can get both here. You have been warned about the weird, um, graphic!

Can anyone spare a Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum (Blue) or two? I could trade for a Feather or two. Send me a PM.

    Thanks,

The two in the top row are made in India. The three in the bottom row are all made in Russia.

Sharp Edges (Yellow) are made in Russia. They are nice blades.

Super Stainless (Green) are made in Russia. Of all the Gillette blades in production, I like those the least, although they are perfectly usable.

Permasharp Stainless (Green) are made in India and are one of the best blades for me. I think the name has recently changed to Super Stainless but the blade is the same.
