    Both!

Seriously. the only razors I keep as daily shavers are a Pre WWII Fat Handle Tech and a NDC 40s SupersSpeed. I usually use the Fat Handle almost exclusively but when I find my shave is mediocre or I am running to fast during a shave I will switch to the 40s SS for a week or so.

As to blades I use Astra SPs but once my face got used to DE shaving I find most blades no longer give me irritation but it comes down to the number of shaves from a blade for me. If you haven't gotten a sampler do that and try some as different blades as they can and do feel vastly different to individual faces.

    Hope that helps!

If your skin is really sensitive I would recommend the fat-handled Tech over the Superspeed by a small margin. A little milder, a little more forgiving.

Just get both, you won't regret it. If you don't like either one it's an easy sale.

Either one would be fine as the gents above said. The blade exposure is small on both of them.

My personal choice would be the Super Speed...But thats my choice...Either one should work for you...The Super Speed is easier to change blades for a new shaver....I think whether beginer or old timer the 40's style Super Speed is hard to beat!!

It's like picking between Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly. You're going to be more than satisfied with whichever they pick. I have both, and like advised earlier, I'd recommend getting both. You can often buy one of each for less than the cost of a new Parker. I picked up a near mint fat-handled Tech last month of $7 shipped.

Out of the two, I would grab them both, but if only one option then the SS, but both would be better, than one.

Either razor will do fine, but get a blade sampler - every face reacts to the same blade differently, and there's no direct link between the reviews you read online and the results you personally get.

I have both, and like the feel of the Tech more than the SS. I also found mine last month on eBay for $7 shipped.

Both are fine razors and will do an equally good job for you. Don't worry about the choice. Technique trumps equipment nearly every time.

Very interesting...did my usual Saturday morning stroll around the local flea market and picked up exactly those two razors. Got them plus a short-handled Ever-Ready SE for $10. All three cleaned and shined up very nicely...no brassing, bad scratches, or other uglies. I'm looking forward to trying those two Gillettes very soon!

Brando, everyone responds differently to different blades. Its really a matter getting a sampler and finding the couple 2-4 blades you really like and then test them some more for longevity. I don't have terribly thick facial hair so the Astras work well for me and I get about 8-10 shaves from a blade. Now ask 5 other people and they will tell you 5 different blades that they like.

@Snargle- You should like them both! They are excellent shavers!

The fat handle tech feels better in the hand imo and would provide mild shaves. Blades and razors seem to be black magic. For whatever reason, some blades work great in some razors and not so much in others. I find the best way to test the waters with a new razor is to put something in it with a forgiving reputation and see what happens.

Got both honestly. I love my superspeeds, but over the last 3 weeks I've been using a fat handle tech with 7 different blades and all woked well.

You truly will not be sorry, both are excellent shavers and liked by everyone. If you should find you don't like them they can easily be gotten rid of on the BST. BTW, always check the BST before hitting ebay as usually you will find better prices and often even someone open to a trade.
