    Default Armadillo caught red-handed...

This is a picture (though fuzzy) of an armadillo I caught red-handed creeping around my backyard. Are you serious? An armadillo???? Sheesh, I guess I live in Texas now.

There are tons of them in FL. Normally found dead on the side of the road though

Wait, they go in people's yards? I thought they hung out on roadsides waiting to dart out in front of oncoming vehicles

One thing I did find out is that armadillos are not stealthy at all. When they move, they make a lot of noise. Another thing is they don't scare easily (as proven by the photo). I went out and started taking pictures and then thing went on about its business searching for bugs to eat.

If you think moles can damage a lawn, they pale in comparison to an armadillo. I sodded a 10x30 foot area in my lawn a few years back, watered it for a few days, then woke up one morning to see every bit of it ripped out. They come through every so often and wreak havoc on my grass. I've even considered getting a suppressed upper for my M4 carbine so I can deal some death and destruction on them for a change without disturbing my neighbors and ending up in jail.
