Default Personna "Barber" Same as Generic Re-branded Store Blades

Are the Personna "Barber" blades sold by razorbladesandmore.com the same blade that Personna supplies to other companies that rebrand them and supply them to various drug stores and supermarkets? This image shows a razor blade branded as "CareOne" found at a Giant Food Store. The markings on the actual blade are identical to the "Barber" blade sold by razorbladesandmore.com.

This seems like a resonable possibility since the Barber blades come in an unmarked white wrapper and I don't believe are available in standard 5 or 10 unit packages with any Personna branding like any other consumer targeted blade.

As for the "Barber" name, that sounds misaligned. I have never seen a barber use a DE razor to perform a shave or even to tidy up sideburns .

I haven't used the "barber" blades, however, I have seen the dispenser packs like that with three or four different descriptions. There are ones that say "Platinum Chrome" instead of "Stainless Steel" and also ones that say "comfort coated" on the outer package, but not on the dispenser.

I have noticed the personna blades like that have a code printed on them. It would be interesting to collect those codes with specific packaging information. Maybe we could figure these out.

Hillary Flammond: Nick? What does that mean?
Nick Rivers: Oh, nothing. My dad thought of it while he was shaving.

I have no idea, but I do like these blades. I got them in a sampler from razorbladesandmore and I think David said they were his personal faves. I rank them right up there with the best I've tried. Admittedly I've only tried about eight blades so far, but I the barbers are on my short list of faves.

Got the same thing - some freebies with a "sampler pack" that I put together and ordered from razorbladesandmore.com. They're good - sharp and smooth - but I find they don't last as long as other blades.

FWIW, my barber uses a shavette that looks like it's loaded with a DE (half of one, anyway) for cleanup.

I bought a 10 pack at the NEX in Hawaii for $1.49 a pack. For me they are pretty smooth, not as smooth as the meds but they are pretty nice blades.
They didn't last as long as meds but I did get two really nice shaves in my EJDE89L. I can usually get four or five excellent shaves from the meds and labs.

I got a message from David at razorbladesandmore.com and he stated that it is likely that the Barbers are the generic Personna blades like you see in the image above.

I've tried the Barbers but not any of the various rebranded Personna's. I've got great shaves with the Barbers but they only lasted for ONE shave. They degraded even faster for me than I Feather which I pull after (2) shaves.

I was really excited about the Barber after my first use. I thought I had a bargain blade that was close to Feather performance but the second shave attempt with the Barber was not good. Even tossing them after one shave it's probably cheaper than buying Feathers if I toss the Feather after (2) shaves but the shave is not as close to the Feather for me to make the Barber my #1.

I'm 99% sure "Barber" Personnas are the generics found throughout North America in many chain stores. Also, David (Mr. Personna) of Razor Blades & More seems to think so.

The first ones I used were in a 15-pack, overpriced at my local Rite Aid. I had just used up what came with my Feather Popular and figured, what the heck, I was picking up scripts anyway. Fell in love. I would've bought more but I received a sampler with Israeli Blues and found them to be as close as the two Shark varieties. So I pulled the trigger on 150 Blues and am very happy indeed.

Yes, the U.S. Personnas, often rebranded in drugstores. They get mixed reviews online, but in my experience they get very high marks. Smooth shaving, BBS results, very forgiving, and I love the old school dispensor. I get three quality shaves out of a blade. They are all I need in a blade, though I`ll never give up my Treet Durasharp carbons and vintage Spoilers and Plus Platinums.

Though they switched to the German Wilkinsons in the stores, Walmart still sells the U.S. Personnas online, 1.76 a 10 pack with free U.S. shipping.
