Well not necessarily. The final finish on this knife was done with 0.025 micron polycrystalline diamond on nanocloth. There is certainly no reason you couldn't use leather as well - but with diamond abrasive. The leather itself would have minimal effect on the ceramic but the diamond on the strop would be useful for refining and maintaining edge performance. In general edge longevity on ceramics is quite high and sold as an advantage on kitchen knives and as the blade in hand held slicers and peelers. Of course something like nanocloth which has essentially no abrasive component would give a purer effect for the 0.025 micron particles.

The fact that Honed allowed himself to go without shaving long enough to get that big bushy beard is troublesome to me....

+1,
I could never go that long. Not sure many of us have that will power.
I think it has a lot to do with the bitter cold up there in Sweden

It really took some serious commitement & if it hadn't been for Tom asking me if I wanted to try his Kyocera-shaver, I would probably still have the beard
Indeed, the winters here does call for a serious beard. Now I will be freezing my face off every morning..
I can't argue with you there![]()
