    Default where do you source your acrylic material for scales?

    I think I will take a shot at making a pair..

    Walmart, the acrylic clipboards are perfect of this application. They come in many colors too.

    Most larger cities will have a shop that sells it. Usually they will also be making signs for shops and things like that.

    The fancy acrylic ones are made out of pen blanks and you can find them on the web searching for these words.

    But you have to have a way of ripping them into slabs. A good bandsaw will do it, but my cheap one wont cut straight enough.

    Great idea, thanks for that. probably a lot cheaper than going in to a retail plastic store and buying a sheet that size.

    While this is correct it should be noted that most acrylic pen blanks are 5" long, which will not work for scales.
    You will have to source the 6" blanks. There aren't as many suppliers but they are a few out there.

    eBay is full of 3mm - 1/8" acrylic sheets in a myriad of colors.
    Can-can scratch patterns!
