Cream tipped Gem Bullet

I found a Gem with a cream colored, plastic tip. I have never seen one of these before. Does anybody know anything about it? I can't find anything in Waits about it.

I've seen them before. In fact there was one for sale in BST a while back. They're nice looking razors. Seem to weigh a lot more than the other micromatics. Just managed to snag a "guiding eye" version.

That looks like the plastic-knob variant of the bullet-tip micromatic. Maybe wartime production? I picked one up on ebay a while ago, as part of a lot, but I traded it away. http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Micromatic has a picture of that particular example.
