What's new

Is it me? Or does Dickenson's Witch Hazel stink?

I haven't tried Dickenson's, mostly because it's so much more costly than the store brand at Kroger. The smell doesn't bother me; I kind of like it, actually. But it goes away while it dries, and is definitely not in evidence after my cold water rinse.

I have two flavors of Thayers and they both have alcohol as the second ingredient.
I really like the lemon Thayers. It smells great and works very well.

There are two styles of Thayers, the astringent toners (peach, lemon, superhazel, original) and the alcohol-free toners (cucumber, lavender, rose, unscented, alcohol-free original). I use the peach astringent after I shave in the morning (for that nice tingle) and the cucumber toner before I go to bed (when I can be bothered). Which type you choose depends on how you use it and your skin type.

Smells like bark chips and dirt...yea, it has a funk. The funk goes away quick, and you can put something that smells better over it.
