Schick Slim Twin vs. DE razor

I tried a disposable Slim Twin razor and it shaved similiar to a DE. None of that grabbing/pulling feeling of sensor/mach 3/quattro/fusion/etc. Very good shave and no irritation.

Does anyone know what Schick cartridge blade and handle combo is equal to the Slim Twin disposable? Thanks.

The Slim Twin was a great little razor. I liked it because of the button that pushed the gunk out of the second blade. I had several handles that were give aways to college kids. I used it until I could no longer find replacement carts. I no longer have the handles. I'm not sure if one could take a cart off a disposable and use it on the nondisposable handle. I've only seen one handle on ebay. I might buy some disposable Slim Twins the next time I'm not checking my bags.

On a recent road trip, I used the Slim Twins and had a rough time. The slim twin afforded a very close shave. In fact, the shave itself was excellent, but I ended up with a pretty bad case of razor burn. It was that very outcome that lead me to embrace shaving with a DE in the first place; irritation from using cartridges or disposables.

If you're looking for a twin blade or cartridge that does a decent job, the Gillette Sensor is about the top of the heap, but even they can give a pretty serious case of razor burn in some folks. They seem to be somewhat more tame with wet-shaving brush and lather prep. YMMV.
