I have recently started wet shaving with a brush and shaving soap. I had a low quality badger brush and purchased a silver tip haired badger brush. The difference in the shaving experience is not to be believed. I thought that I was getting a close shave with the cheaper brush but it does not compare to the experience with the silver tip badger.

My question for the experts out there is, what is the difference, if any, between shaving soap and shaving cream. I have sensitive skin and the soap really allows the razor to glide over my face. I know that there are creams with high glycerin content; such as D. R. Harris. Is there a significant difference between cream and soap or is it merely personal? I would appreciate any feedback...Thanks.

    Welcome to the B&B "D"

As far as soap vs Creams, thats something you have to decide for yourself. What may rock my world, may leave you cold and so forth.

Both. It is very subjective and there is a difference between soaps and creams. Regardless of different brands (Each one is different to the other) even the same brand can have a great soap and mediocre cream and vice versa. Get a good soap and a good cream. In the end both are ejoyable and provide good results. The only thing n which most may agree is that soaps last longer.

    Thumbs up Welcome

    Welcome to the B&B forum!

You might get some plain glycerin at the drug store. With your face wet and ready to lather, take just 3-4 drops of the glycerin and rub over your wet face. Then lather. This will make the blade glide much more smoothly, whether using a soap or a cream.
