What is your favorite shave setup?
My ideal shave: 3-4 days of growth. My hair grows slow, shaving every would be hard and incomprehensible to me.
The Setup: take hot shower and wash face with Nivea double action face wash (great manly scent). Then wash beard growth with hair conditioner: either Aussie Moist or Neutrogena Triple Action Moisture (both offer quality deep moisture to skin). After the shower I wrap my face in warm towel for 1 minute or so.
The Prep: I would then apply Jack Black Beard Lube mixed w/ a little hot water to face. Let sit for a minute, and then apply a second layer for added protection.
The Shave: right now I'm using a 1950's era Gillette travel safety razor with Merker blades: Shaving with the grain I would do a first pass, then a second again adding more Beard Lube.
Closing Act: wash face with cold water; apply Caswell Massey's Almond Aftershave. then I use Ahava Dead Sea Mens Lotion and eye cream. Last but not least I apply Geo F. Trumper Astor colonge to neck.
On my wish list: Geo F. Trumper Violet Shave Cream, Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Pre-Shave Oil, and a good badger brush.
What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
Spening time with my fiance and family. Working out (something I need to do more). Reading, I like to vary widely in what I read. I can read anything from a science journal to a pulp murder novel so long as its well written.
What else should the members of B&B know about you?
To show you how much I like movies, I watched the two extended versions of the first two Lord of the Rings the afternoon of the opening night of the third one, and then saw the midnight showing of number three on IMAX. That's almost 9 hours of movies in a day.
