It is such a good song! I don't think I've ever really heard it done badly. You should go to youtube and search " While my guitar gently weeps ukulele". There is a guy named Jake Shimabukuro who does a very cool instrumental version.

A double CD set called Roadmasters by two bands called Smoke Stack Lightnin' and The Seat Sniffers.

If you like Rockabilly, check them out. Smoke Stack Lightnin' is from Nuremberg and The Seat Sniffers are from Belgium and both do the genre right.

Sings like she is from some kind of country music royalty or something. Sweet Baby Jesus! [I am editing this to add that I was thinking that she was country music royalty because of her Dad and her Mom were, thinking her Mom was June Carter. But she is actually the daughter of J Cash's first wife. Amazingly good vocals on this album though. Her voice has gotten nothing but better and better over the years. Many of these songs I would not have imagined wanting another version of. But she and her husband make these fresh. I could do without the corny story of the list of 100 songs he dad made. This is a really good album in its own right!]

That is one cornily posed album cover shot though.

Listening to the live version of "Big Puzzle" by Swedish prog group The Flower Kings from their album "Alive On Planet Earth". A very nice relaxing song clocking in at 18 minutes.

The last couple of weeks, I have mostly been listening to "von Hertzen Brothers". A Finnish band (no worries, they are singing in English..) and their music is very much influenced by 70's Rock. Beautiful!

Ike Turner - The Best of Ike Turner

Too bad he was such a despicable human being; I'm convinced he was as responsible for the creation of rock'n'roll as anyone, and his later forays into funk are exhilarating. Great, great guitarist, too.
