The Congos - Heart of the Congos

Still my favorite Jamaican record of all time. Heart-stopping harmonies and ageless production. Just amazing, and all the more tragic that their other efforts were so lackluster.

Alice in Chains' new album Black Gives Way to Blue. It's bloody fantastic.

I've been waiting for this one to hit the store over here. As soon as it does you better believe I'll snag it up!

OK, so I picked up Alice in Chains new album yesterday. I've listened through it all the way two times and I think I'm sorely disappointed. I mean I realize its not Layne Stayley (and hasn't been since '02) but it just seemed too slow and too simple. I haven't given up on it yet, but there isn't a single song that has jumped out at me yet.

Right this second I'm listening to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", the Peter Frampton version.
