I keep coming back to Charley Patton. The more I listen to his music, the more his brilliance becomes evident.

I am surprised at myself, but I am listening to Lady Gaga. Can't get it out of your head, can't get it off the bottom of my shoe, as Dennis Miller once said, but extraordinarily catchy or not, this is pretty good 2009 pop music. Excellent voice. Clever lyrics. Not the same old June, moon, love, romance and not rolling with my homies smoking a blunt and hitting on the b_____ either!

Also, the Beatles remasters. Although with certain specific exceptions, I think I am good at about two passes through each cut.

Right now, I'm really into cello music. I'm in the process of purchasing Yo-Yo Ma's Suite for Solo Cello. Really amazing stuff.

Mosaic's out of print compilation: The Complete Recordings of the Paul Desmond Quartet with Jim Hall. A sublime way to make the transition from sleep to an imitation of being awake.
