Jason Witch Vera Cooling Gel
I've been looking for an aftershave that didn't make me break out (like Nivea did) and that did the job... hopefully at a reasonable price. I've been reading good things about witch hazel, so I headed to my local health food store (Wild Oats, to be exact) to get some. After looking around for way too long (since they didn't have alcohol-free witch hazel in anything other than the rose... and I just can't bring myself to buy something rose), I decided to pick up Jason's Witch Vera Cooling Gel (http://www.jason-natural.com/products/sun_aloe_tea.php).
At $6.99 for an 8 oz pump bottle (and a little goes a long way, which makes the price that much more attractive), this stuff does the job. With aloe vera, witch hazel, chamomile, vitamin B, menthol, and a little alcohol, it has basically everything. It admittedly smells wretched (which may be an understatement), but the smell quickly goes away.
Last night I used Kyle's prep method (no shower beforehand), shaved with a Sensor Excel (my HD is in the mail as we speak) and C&E Almond, followed by the the Witch Vera Gel, let it dry, then used some Cetaphil face lotion. Best post shave regiment I've found. A nice close shave with little irritation today (it IS still a Sensor Excel...).
I definitely recommend giving the Witch Vera stuff (or any of the other Jason products) a shot. It's an attractive price and the results will be tough to beat.
