    Default Vito's aftershaving

Just got my Vito's "Aftershaving" aftershave from Italian Barber yesterday, along with a small jar of the Coconut Oil shaving cream. While I had some issues at first getting a good lather with the cream (more water than normal really helped), I got a fantastic shave.

The aftershave has a fantastic barber-shop scent somewhat (though still quite different) remeniscent of Floids. The skin conditioning properties are wonderful, and three hours later, it is still there if I rub my face. AS's tend not to last long on me at all, so this is a great thing.

I am thrilled with this purchase, and only wish I had placed more items in my cart, as there are already things I want to try from IB that I wish I had now!

I just picked up a bottle of Vitos Aftershaving to round out my last order from Italian Barber. This is a great aftershave--I can't imagine anything else smelling more "vintage" than this stuff (and not in an old man way either). From application thru drydown to fadeout-- smells great. It's also soothing and feels good on the skin.

To me it smells just like walking out of the barber shop on a bright, clear Saturday Morning....in 1955.....

Thanks Malocchio for the heads up on this one. I saw your original post a while back.

I'm pretty sure they are. This is tops on my want-list, but the cost and shipping means I'll have to wait for Christmas and hope. I can add RazoRock XXX to help get to the free shipping requirement, but his blades and other stuff are kinda pricey.

you hit it on the head...real 1950's quality and authenticity...this is what american barbers had prior to the 1970's....for me this says "barbershop" even more than any of the floids, which I also love.....vito/susan achieved a triumph with this masterpiece...I scored 3 bottles from joe,I refuse to run out of this one...

I got this one form Joe, along with razorock wax, xxx and fresco. all are winners thus far. the scent is candyish going on but dries down really nice to a barbershop scent. feels great on the skin as well.

I wanted to dig this thread up to say how much I love this stuff. What a gem. It has exactly what I've been looking for, the italian aftershave with no menthol. has great barbershop fragrance and leaves my skin feeling great without that icky menthol feeling that i can't stand a la the floids. i'm really happy with this aftershave. really cool glass bottle too and the price cannot be beat.

what can i say? i love the scents of the several floids but i cannot stand that lasting mentholated effect. vitos aftershaving is the same type of a/s without the menthol.

Can someone try and explain the scent or compare it to other aftershaves ? Does it compare at all to Floid Blue ?

    Thanks

I don't think any of Vito's smell anything like Floid Blue.

    I have:

    Vito's Classica
    Vito's Ice
    Vito's Aftershaving
    Floid Blue

    FWIW,

the VIto's aftershaving bottle is IDENTICAL to the Proraso 400ml splash bottle.

I don't know if that means anything, but it could be the same manufacturer or just the same bottle supplier.

The Floid bottle is different, btw.

OK, I've tried Italian Floids (Amber & Blue), and Spanish Floid Suave. Can you someone please compare the scents of the Aftershaving with those? I'm thinking of the large 400ml bottle. Someone mentioned smelling like candy, and to be polite, that's not my cup of tea. I want to smell like a real man; a Stetson man (bad joke).

I've had my eye on Vitos aftershave splash for some time now. Could someone do a rundown of the ingredients?

Does that mean the Proraso atomizer will fit?

The closest thing I can think of that Vitos Aftershaving smells like is Aqua Velva musk. Except the scent of Vitos is much, much better...sweeter and spicier...orange candy, musk and spices. It is absolutely delicious...I love it. FYI - I have never tried the Floids so I can't compare them.
