What's new

Hi from Virginia

Hey guys... I just signed up and thought I'd say "hi."

I've been really interested in the more "traditional" shaving methods and equipment for the past 2 or 3 years. I just wasn't satisfied with the 12 o clock stubble and irritation I was getting from my the latest whiz-bang 12 bladed razor and goo in a can.

So, I started off by using a cheap Vulfix badger and some Proraso "I can't feel my face" cream from Target. Since then, I've been hooked. I figured I'd come over to the forums since most everyone around me seem to think shaving can't even be fun, much less a hobby

Welcome. Are you using a safety razor yet? And if so, I do recommend trying a variety of brands of blades---easiest done with blade sampler packs:

In the US: here and here.
In the UK.

Enjoy. It's a great hobby.

Welcome to the black hole of RAD, SBAD and all the other addictions that come with the territory. The rewards are great but patience is the key.

If you live anywhere close to the Nordstrom at Pentagon City you can pick up some T&H shaving creams from there. I prefer retail to online shopping any day.
