    Default NEW De Luxe Tuckaway

More RAD... this is definitely user-grade, but it is my first NEW with a De Luxe head. I'm looking forward to shaving with it.

I think that Blue box and Rocket HD might be a mismatch. I believe that box is from a British Popular (maybe a #47). I saw a NOS one in an antique store a week or so ago. Sadly it was too expensive, so I had to let it go.

Default 2x Myrsol and Proraso "cutting edge" ASB

This arrived with the post today from Giftsandcare.com. I'm impressed by the really short delivery time: 3 days in all, from Spain to Denmark.

    • Myrsol Emulsion (a pre and post product - reminds me of Musgo Real) - 180ml
    • Myrsol After Shave F./Extra (a traditional AS) - 180ml
    • Sul filo del rasoio by Proraso ASB (really nice scent)

Can't wait for my next shave.

I think you would be right about the case. However I am not shocked if those Rockets were sold with this case. Btw, might I ask how much is that Popular on sale?

Thank you, Jim. Interestingly this soft case is not soft that it looks. It has metal plaques on both sides why it is very heavy.

In the first picture I think it's a Slim on the left and on the right is a super adjustable. I think the smaller DE is a travel Tech but I'm not sure.

Don't know the maker of the straight razor but that's a guard you out on the blade to reduce the chance of cutting yourself (I think). Think they were mainly for people with mental difficulties. I know I've read that somewhere but whether or not that's true, I don't know. So don't take that as truth until someone more knowledgeable on the subject chimes in.

I've been putting together a small group of high quality straights that needs a good clean up / restoration so I've got something to play with when I've got some spare time. Here's the four I've got.

First is an 11/16 Fritz Bracht Tennis

Next is a 11/16 Cattaraugus Green Lizard

Followed by a 11/16 Case Temperite

And last but no means least is a 15/16 Bartmann although I think it'll be more like 7/8 or 13/16 when it's repaired.

It was $110 Aus. It was brand new though, still in cellophane. Too rich for my blood at the moment.

I know the smaller DE is a three piece tech. I picked up 2 yesterday, giving me a total of 5 techs in my den.

I would have had my credit card out in a second. Or course, finding such things around here is almost unheard of.

Well, the last one sold on ebay was gone for that price or something. If it is NOS, it will be a good score.

    Default Fatboy!

Turned out to be a great day! My daughter and I headed out to hit the flea market. Boy has that place changed! Use to be guys all over selling antiques, now there are hardly any. We hit every building then moved to the outside tables. after hitting just about every booth, I was about to give up and leave when I spotted a smaller shed with some antiques outside so we went in. There was shelves of misc junk and one display case. I looked inside and first I saw a mini gillette travel razor then I saw it. MY Fatboy! I couldn't believe it! I double checked, looked away, looked back, it was still there, it was NOT a mirage! So here it is! I snagged it for $10!!! That's how it looked when I bought it. With minimal cleanup with a toothbrush and some buffing with a jewelry polishing cloth, it looks NEW! I couldn't stop grinning all the way home!!

Awesome find! I snagged one awhile back that looked pitiful. Looked like it had some plating loss. It was 4 bucks and I figured what the heck. Took it home and discovered the plating loss was in fact yellowed soap scum. The shine of the plating was translating through the soap scum making it look like it had lost some plating. When I cleaned it up it turned out like the one you have in the picture. Boy was I happy. Out of the three fatboy's I have its my best one.

Heading out today to do it again! Since I've got a nice Slim and a nice Fatboy, I think I've got all I'll need but, I'm thinking about giving them away to family and friends.
