    Let me see

I scored a TOBS sandelwood soap today, some proraso (my last tub was finished years ago...how I missed thee, proraso!).

I also got a barbers hone to keep my razors sharp, which I got a sweet deal on because they didn't have the cheaper ones anymore, so they gave me the next model up for the same price. :)

I got myself a second straight, a Colibiri 7, vintage (probably 4 times my age), 7/8ths blade full hollow ground. The condition is okay (not great), but the edge is still perfect and it only cost me 32 euros...so I ain't complainin' Got it at a small antique shop in Ghent...

I had nicked the blade on my Dovo Inox, which the guy at the store (De Messenwinkel, in Antwerp, great store!) fixed, he gave me a short stropping lesson (after remarking I was ahead of the curve :D) and told me to call him anytime I needed some help with the razor.

So, happy, and looking forward to tonights shave!

It finally arrived today. Lee Sabini made me a nice "Morris and Forndran Blonde Badger", 26 mm knot, Two-band, set at 48 mm. Tomorrow it will get its first outing on my face...

Gold-plated Ever Ready SE Razor...not exactly sure what model this is. Looks like a Gem pat. 1912 head but no markings. Near mint condition, shaves like a dream, and super cheap off of eBay!

Found this nice NIB Push Button. In Australia too! Always liked the look of these. For some reason it only came up in a search if you waded through a few hundred vintage jewelry (gem) items. Got lucky.

Aside from the SOC, those are the boars to beat.

So far I have picked up GFT Rose in the tube

TOBS Lemon and Lime in the tube

and Ogallala Bay Rum with Sandalwood AS

I am thinking about getting a decent sized pottery shaving bowl, mug, or scuttle, but I am not sure which I want.

Thank you. Nice to get something NIB too. Not being a collector, it's getting used too.

I did get them. Actually shoulderless Ivory scaled Sheffield cased pairs are about all I bid on these days. SRAD is finally dying down.

Went for a Sunday drive since there are no antique stores locally, 8 hours on the road and $35 in gas later, all I found was a Gillette Blue Blade dispenser for $2.00. I had it in my head I was going to come back with an arm load of toggles, fatboys, aristocrats, executives...

    Default Red and Black Month?

So far June is starting out as a red and black shaving gear month.

Last night I finished gluing in a new knot to a vintage red and black Stag brush handle. It's got a 20mm TGN Finest Fan-shaped Badger knot, set at 48mm.

Then today at lunchtime, I took a quick run over to the local antique mall. There I found this Gillette Bar-handled New Razor in the Red and Black case. Beautiful razor and in near-mint condition. I probably paid a little more than I should have ($20), but I couldn't pass this one up!

The least you could give us after all that is a picture! By the way don't know why Americans/Canadians always complain about the price of gas. Eight hours on the road here will cost you three times that. In Europe make that six times that.

This month's finds. These were all a gimme from a friend who has been a barber for a good many years now. The only Tech with a date code is the travel Tech. Also, the Gem open comb Micromatic in the upper left corner has the National Recovery Administration insignia on one end of the box, so, unless I am mistaken, that puts it between 1933 and 36. Not pictured is a copy of the book "1000 razors" showing many different blade etchings and tang stamps.

Man, this RAD has to stop.....I have no more room for razors!!

Here are some things I picked up this weekend. Kent BK2 bought from Kijiji (online classifieds), never used. Also 2 razors from a flea market, 1 I think is an english Gillette Superspeed, and I'm not sure about the other one? Paid $7.00 for the pair, with a Gillette adjustable case which my Fatboy now rests in.
