    Default Newbie, part of one

    Hi all,

I've been reading these forums and wet shaving for about two months now with a mach3. My Merkur finally arrived today, so I thought it was time to sign in and says thanks for all the advice! We'll see how closely I've been paying attention tomorrow morning

    Later,

Welcome! And tomorrow, be sure and tell us how it went, which model of Merkur you have, which brand of razor blade you used, and all the other details!

    Default Success!

Well, the first DE shave went VERY well. I did two WTG passes and I look at least as presentable as I would with the Mach3. Puls no razorburn or nicks to boot!

Thank you for all of the great advice! I'm pretty sure this forum is a lot of the reason I didn't lop my nose off!

    Default Gear List

I just saw the request for what kit I'm using:
    Merkur Futur
    Vulfix #405 best badger
AOS Sandalwood pre-shave oil, shaving cream
    AOS Lavendar aftershave balm

I know the Futur gets some flak, but I'm pretty sure when Dr. Frankenstien was putting me together, he used a completely different throat from my face. I knew I would probably want an adjustable, and when I actually looked at the mechanics of the Futur v. the Progress, I liked what I saw in the Futur better. FWIW, I didn't have any trouble with balance or grip.

I received an AOS shaving kit because I used to hate shaving so much and my family wanted me to look presentable-ish. Once I started with the brush and shavecream, I was hooked!

    Thanks Again!
