Does anyone know where I could get a nice blade holder? I'm thinking of something along the lines of the holders that you find with vintage razors. Do any companies currently make blade holders, or am I limited to eBay and antique stores? Thanks!

I think it is mainly going to be ebay/antique shops. I think a ceramic blade bank sponsored by B&B would be great. I bet this has been thought of, but still something I would like to see.

Do you mean holders for new blades or for used blades?
I'm referring to new blades. I'd like something more attractive and user-friendly than the plastic cases the blades are packaged in.

I thought you were referring to used blades as many of the old razor / brush stands were also containers for used blades.

I wonder if one of those fancy cigarette lighters would work? Could you just take out the lighter and use the metal case? I'm not sure if the insides come out, but I imagine it would so that it can be refilled. Maybe a smoker can help me out here. Clearly, this is not the ideal solution, but it beats the plastic Derby case.
I'm surprised that nobody makes blades holders anymore. It would be cheap, and the seller could stamp "Classic Shaving.com" or "Vintage Blades" or whatever on it. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

I Zippo case might work (insides do come out), but the fit wouldn't be ideal.

I have thought about this before and wandered if a trip down the local silversmith would be in order. I am sure it would not be much trouble for him to knock you one up. Design it yourself and take the design to him. You never know it may not be as expensive as you think and it would be totally individual. Just a thoughtOh.....or you could just get one of those larger silver pill boxes there are hundreds of designs of those! I bet you could easily get 10 blades in one.

I've seen them come up on the bay for 99 cents from time to time. The trick to finding them is to use many search terms: blade, razor, case, box, thing, gizmo, whatsit, whatchacallit, whoosit, whatchamacallit, silver, gold, chrome, yellow, shiny, not so shiny - anyway, you get the picture.
Oh, I forgot: blade holder.
