Default Snagged a NEW Deluxe Tuckaway

Grabbed this one off the Bay last night. Seems like not a bad price. Tuckaways seem ideal for travel, the handle is not too short, but the case is really elegant and compact, and I've never had a New Deluxe head before, so it seemed worth a try.

While I'm anxiously waiting for it to arrive what can folks tell me about this model. I was assuming it was triple silver, but looking at Mr Razors site it seems possible it's chrome plated which is quite unique among Gillettes especially 1930s vintage ones, but I think for practical reasons it would be preferable to silver since it's a more durable finish that doesn't tarnish.

I'll be sure and add pics when it arrives. Looks like I might have to re-line the case if it's a pukey as it looks in the pictures.

The inside of the case looks pretty rough, but other than that, it looks like you got yourself a great set!Nice find!

It is a NEW Deluxe Norfolk with chrome finish. I wanted to bid more but $25 shipping put me away. Well it is good to hear that it went to another B&Ber.

Sorry man, I'll give it a good home, and if I decide to part with it I'll give you first crack. I'm sure I can ship it for significantly less than $25. Ebay's international shipping calculator has been weird lately, I have to take things to the post office or use USPS.com to calculate international shipping correctly.

That's really cool that it's chrome plated, the head will go nicely on my Bull Mastiff handle when I'm not using it as a travel razor.

Wow. That is an awesome price for a NEW Deluxe Tuckaway set. Congrats! Looks like chromium, too.

No worries and thanks for your offer. Well, I don't need any razors which I have not enough time to use mines in next months.

Nice score, New Deluxe razors don't pop up to often. You can always try the head on another handle too if the short Tuckaway handle isn't to your liking.

Sweet! When it rains it pours... I just bought this set last week, and it's nearly a twin to yours -- banged up case interior and all. Mine was a little cheaper ($26 shipped) but it has a loose neck from a hairline crack in the top of the handle, and the exterior of your case looks nicer, too. I bought it pretty much just for the head, anyway.

Believe it or not your lining actually looks better than mine. If your divider is not all rusted out it's a snap to redo the lining. If it is, it's not really that tough to fix. I did it in a couple of hours including fabricating a new divider and running to the fabric store for velvet. Check this thread if you want to see how I redid the lining.
