Default Acca Kappa (tub) vs. QCS vs. Razorock XXX

Anyone tried a couple of these or all of them? I was curious how they stacked up against each other? Thanks for the help!

I can not speak on Acca Kappa or Razorock, but I own several QCS creams. Top notch stuff. I really enjoy the quality of the lather, and the price is right. From what I hear, Razorock is an amazing value (at less than 10 bucks for a tub). Acca Kappa is considered by many to be a fine, high quality cream itself. It is a little more pricey (26 dollars I think on some online vendors). All 3 seem to be respectable products. I know QCS does right by me for sure

I think they are much closer in price than you think...I've seen acca kappa listed for 20 with free shipping at multiple vendors. And the QCS creams are in the mid teens.

I've used QCS and razorock XXX, both are great. Razorock for me,, though.

I have the original RazoRock soft soap and can't tell the difference between it, Cella, P160, and the two Vitos Red soaps (Almond and Coconut). They are all stellar for me. Actually, I give P160 the slightest of edges.

I also have five different QCS creams en route to me as I type this.

And I'm patiently waiting for the Italian Barber to get the AK tub back in stock to try it for the first time.

I'll report back in a few days when my QCS stuff arrives if this thread is still going. I'm sure they'll be superb.

In all honesty, the only soap or cream I've tried (out of about twenty or so) and haven't got a good shave from was Williams Mug Shaving Soap. Other than scent, I really have trouble telling them apart.

XXX will be here soon to give it a spin but it is going to be difficult to knock down AK.

I use Acca Kappa (tub) and RR XXX in my rotation. Both are, like most Italian soft-soaps, excellent lathererers and give a good shave. The fragrance doesn't match the level of sophistication of Trumpers or Coates (for example), but the shave is quite good.

I cannot comment on AK having never tried it. However, I have QCS Key Lime and RazoRock XXX. I'd give the edge to XXX in terms of lather and performance. That's not taking anything away from QCS. QCS is fine stuff however the later generated from RazoRock is thicker and slicker. In my opinion it compares very favorably to Castle Forbes. Scents are subjective and didn't play into my comparison but while I'm on the subject I love the XXX scent and the QCS is an excellent fresh lime scent. I would not hesitate to recommend either but if you absolutely had to buy 1 because of some SWMBO mandate I'd go with RazoRock XXX.

Ak>QCS>RR. Overall shave AK, scents QCS, value RR. Can't really go wrong, as they all perform very well. Regards, Bradley

AK is really fantastic. It takes a bit more water and work than you would expect, but explodes with awesomeness when you hit its sweet spot.

Acca Kappa is the only one of those that I've tried. It is an outstanding cream in my opinion. Of the few "almond" variety creams I've tried, it's the one I've enjoyed the most.

It seems that there are two versions of AK: see http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpos...18&postcount=1 from Marco. Which one are people talking about. (I really don't like almond scent, so I'm interested on the old formulation in the tube, not the tub..)

    Thanks,
Luis -- not very good at this, so take all I say with a huge grain of salt

I think most are using the tub, that's the good one. It's almond scent is milder than Cella.
    Awesome awesome cream.

I think I have narrowed it down to QCS and the Razorock XXX...such a hard decision!
