As much as I would like to attend I am unable to allocate the monetary resources necessary to make the trip, but more importantly I do not fly under any circumstances.

i'd love to go, maybe in 2012...

how about an east coast (mid atlantic) bbq? I have 2 portable-ish smokers and currently 18 racks of ribs in the freezer...

Hey I'm in NC, what say we get started on those ribs while these boys deliberate! I'll bring the western, easten, and even *gasp* South, Carolina sauces

There's no "no" answer, so I can't vote. I don't know Art but I know it when I see it. Vegas is right out. Maybe some place cheaper.

Join up with the other sites. Create a consortium/convention for all wet shave interests. Sell vendor tables, individual & group tables for den emptying etc. Speakers, on going demos, workshops etc.
Before picking Las Vegas perhaps determine where population centers are and maybe one East and one West. Start smaller and build unless there is a compelling response to fill a big convention room.

People may have the wrong idea, Vegas is probably the least expensive vacation period. Plane tickets, lodging, etc all cheap cause they expect you to gamble (in my case they're right)

Las Vegas sounds like a good "central" location where lots of us could get together for fun times.

Memphis or Kansas City could also be fun places to go (when the weather settles down).

Or we could do a West Coast get-together in Vegas and an East Coast in Atlantic City?

Bottom line: I like the idea. Tell us more!

We picked Vegas for several reasons. It's a destination location, people can bring their significant others and not worry about them sitting bored in a hotel all day, there's something for everyone to do, even if they're not primarily interested in shaving. Further, Vegas is the cheapest, most accessible option out there. There are a ton of non-stop or one-stop flights, and there is a glut of good hotel rooms, especially during the off-seasons.

Ideally, an East Coast meet, or even international meets would be fantastic, and are definitely a consideration, but as they say, gotta start somewhere.
