Still going, the wind is slowing down, so the firefighters are starting to get it under control. We're packing up bedding and toiletries for the displaced people from the fire. I know at least thirty people in the path of this fire, hopefully everyone is OK.

The clouds still look kind of normal, but the sky and trees are another planet! Pretty cool, what is a "makeshift infrared set up" look like?

you're right, the IR makes clouds sometimes appear, or pop, where they are not seen with "normal" light. Maybe there is a better way to post images here. They look flat dark compared to the original.

camera is my very first digital Olympus 2020 which has poor IR filter, fast 2.0 shutter, pretty high ISO and range finder focus. All you do is put an IR pass filter on and take pics. Maybe I should start an IR thread when I have more time.

    Thanks.
I was with my dad flying model airplanes at the Muncie Nationals and it was overcast except this freaky line in the clouds. When it passed over it was two masses of air rolling along. The clouds were just boiling along it.

Got a new phone this last weekend and since I was stuck at work till midnight last night without a camera, I stepped out and tried the phone's. This is a stitch in photoshop of two pics so you could see more of the sky.

Thanks. The camera's not too good on this phone (Galaxy Nexus), but I've two good cameras for "real" photo taking. You know, we didn't get a lick of rain out of that. Lightning and some humidity was it.

A few I took at daybreak this morning...

I don't know if this counts because the clouds are barely visible, but I liked it...

Looking straight up from my backyard last weekend. Nothing like lying on your back looking at clouds. They were moving at a pretty good clip upper left to lower right (SSE to NNW)

This morning out of the window by me at work.

Came out into a bit of a rainstorm, with the sun just setting in the west, a (faintly) double rainbow

And the other side looked like

All right, I know what you are thinking, but there are clouds behind the light show.
