This has got to be: (1) a great shave, but also, (2) the BEST vintage shot so far. I would like to see this make it into the finals. Well done maestro

Quick but nice Saturday shave... Two passes + touch-up on neck. Nice treat before spending most of the day in nearly 100 degree heat at a baseball tournament. We won both games. (Tried to post this morning, but the whole site was down...???)

This Rose soap has been absent from my rotation for some time now, and this morning's shave has served a reminder as to just how fabulous it is. Performance, scent, absolutely fantastic. And on a further note, I have been experimenting with the Feather, and this was shave 7. Still no sign of let up in quality of shave, but tomorrow's Italian Theme now requires something different.

Awesome shave David . I take it that you really like the GFT Rose ? That is one great soap too.

    Two points worthy of comment?

    1) This is my first Sunday straight shave!

Just out of habit I continued to use my DE on Sundays. This was because of my fear, in the early learning days, of perhaps having to go to church with one of my ears hanging off!

    2) I found an interesting tip on the Internet (So it must be true!! ) of rubbing a couple of drops of GFT skin food onto the surface of the shaving soap prior to loading the brush. This not only softens the dry soap but the glycerin helps the lather.

    End result.......an amazing shave.
    Oscar,
    (1) A very invigorating shave
    (2) Congratulations on breaking the "Sunday" Mold
    (3) Good tip

A shave of favorites... If these were the only cast of characters available to me, I would not feel at all cheated!
My good wife wanted her garden bench repaired this year, so I stripped it of the old wooden slats, wire brushed and painted the cast iron pieces in the selected yellow, and reassembled with new mahogany seating using SS carriage bolts and hardware...

    She's happy...... for now!

    Bill,
I always enjoy your SOTDs ...They reflect your shave plus a little more. Well done my friend and a very nice bench. I am sure your wife is on cloud 9 using it .

Thank you David . As for the Manantiales line, they smell very different from the soap and from each other for that matter. The AS is a different beast altogether. I do prefer the EdC scent to the AS (just by a slight notch). But, all 3 are top notch and complementary. I love this line of scents

Thanks for your answer, Robert. And yes, I simply adore the GFT Rose soap. The rest of the range I find somewhat below par in comparison.

Thanks, it's fabulous shaver, hadn't used it for a long time, needed some new scales and a touch up, today I decided I had to get it back in business and took the scales I originally had made for a Henckel I never get around to hone, and gave it a short session on the La Grise, the result was one of the best shaves ever!

Thanks Robert. I'm sure you'll rectify that at some stage. I much prefer the Mint over the Sublime Citrus I have so the next cream I order will probably be the Cyril Salter Essential Lime but thats a long time down the road due to the amount of creams and soaps I have.

I wasn't a great fan of Marco's idea of 'themed' SOTD's - well mainly the confusion their introduction seemed to create - but now I'm liking the idea. I'm sure there will be weeks when I don't have themed shots, at least this week has made me learn somewhat how to use photoshop

    Keith,
You're not helping my SCAD . I will now have to give that a shot (one of these days). Thanks

I like Marco's division of SOTD and theme shots. A great idea for sure, but I am still trying to get used to navigating to two threads (checking one and commenting in another). I find it takes me more time (which is precious these days). I like themed SOTDs too, but I hope we have them once a month rather than every week. It makes them more precious too.
