Comments:This may well be my last SOTD post for a few weeks as my wife and I leave tonight for our vacation. And I had to pick some goodies to use, so I whipped up some of my favorite cream. The Bomb with the cedar and vetiver was pure nirvana and the Akatombow wiped away what little growth I had after the past two days of beyond BBS shaves. It's time to pack today and then head to the airport. If I am able to post over the next couple days my shots will be from (potentially multiple days each spot) Istanbul, Rome, Tuscany and Venice in that order! I've also included a preview shot of how my shaves will look while I am away in case I can't post. Enjoy your shaves, gentlemen!

Maxterpiece: 7/8" Novelty 1879, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point (Ebony scales + yellow wedge)
Honing Regimen: Naniwa 1k, Shapton Pro [1k/2k/5k/12k]
Strop: 0/15 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Martin de Candre Shave Soap
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Moisturizer: MdC Oil of Copra "Camomile and Lemon"
Cologne: Eau de Candre "Limette" EdT
Results: Today was a good day to take my new and improved Novelty for a spin. Max put her in some beautiful ebony with yellow wedge. She looks gorgeous. It's like this wood was created specifically for this blade. The Novelty effortlessly wiped the 24 hr growth. I received a bunch of stuff from MdC and used them in combination today. The soap is well known around this forum so I won't dwell on how wonderful the lather really is. The oil of copra was one I was a little apprehensive about since some folks seem to find it too oily. I actually found it very very refreshing and extremely moisturizing. The scent is out of this world (like all MdC products). I topped the day's shave with some of MdC's Limette EdT and it is fabulous to say the least. The staying power is rather short (3-4 hrs for me), but still worth it. An incredible shave to get this busy Thursday off to a great start

Don't know why, but my face hurts after using this razor. I know the technique is not there yet, but I suspect it must probably be too sharp for my level.
Now that I've done at least one shave with all my straights, I think a 5/8 or a 4/8 are the best for me at this stage. In addition, XTG is still very hard, in most areas.

The Bottega Verde moisturizer is a nice cream that contains shea butter and sweet almond milk. Bought it actually to use when I shave with a nice almond Italian soap. Pretty good for 10 Euros.

Apologies for the kind of 'std' theme; I do have PS and all the related tools to manipulate a picture but I am still not very familiar still the Adobe software and also don't have much time every morning...

Comments:I've rescaled (with a cheapo set from Superiorshave) and honed this Taylor, as the seller told me because there is no brand in this razor. It's a full hollow razor and it takes a nice edge with less honing than others. And it's a fantastic shaver. The Cella dries a bit for my taste and the scent it's not very pleasnt, as "Play-doh" paste. The Floïd blue has no menthol and the scent is very powerful.

First shave with Cella I'm really no fan of the Almond scent, but with all the recommendations here I had to try it, and once again Marco (and David and all others who worship it): You where right once again, this is truly amazin stuff
The Chubby always delivers, so there's not much to say about it, but the combination of Cella and two-hundred years old steel and horn can only be described with one word: AMAZING!
This razor takes and incredibly smooth edge, the feeling of the edge working is almost comparable to the soft hands of a beautiful woman stroking your face , and it leaves you with a smooth shaved face this beautiful woman will love to stroke

Results: New stuff all around today . (1) The Wacker Maxterpiece, (2) Institute Karite SS/SC, (3) La Toja Manantiales AS/EdC. OK, so let's take it from the top. The lather out of the IK lineup was excellent. This stuff is ultra moisturizing. The Simpson whipped a lather out of this combination in no time at all. The end result was a lather than was moist, shiny and sticky with lots and lots of glide and cushion. The only thing I don't like about IK is a lot of ingredients are "junk/useless" status for me and I don't care for them. I didn't care for the original scales the Wacker came in, so Max used his magic wand and dressed her in beautiful Ivory G10 scales with red jasper recon stone wedge...her true beauty now comes shining through (thanks Maxtro). I honed her up a few days ago and she is wickedly sharp. Her toe dug a 1/8" nick in my upper right cheek. I need to dial the sharpness down a bit. But, she delivered an outstandingly BBS shave today. I also pulled the trigger and bought the La Toja Manantiales AS and EdC from a member on B&B. The scents are subtle but invigorating. They are distinctly different in their own way and do not clash. Great scents. My Manantiales set is now complete.

    Have a GREAT Friday gentlemen.
