$1 Garage Sale Find - Is it something?

Good afternoon Gents,
I stumbled upon a local garage sale and decided to check it out. I found a shave brush and it was only a buck. The handle was nice so I said what the hey. I could always reknot it if i wanted to. Did I actually find something or is it just a random?

The knot size seems like 19 or 20 mm.
Second pic has a mm ruler behind it, its about 95mm tall.

I don't know if it's "anything", but it looks nice. Is there any writing on the bottom?

That's a great find, especially for $1. It reminds me a little bit of these brushes: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=208345 , but the one you found isn't quite the same. I'm with Berkin in that it also reminds me a bit of some Rooney's that I've seen. Are there any markings on it, either on the bottom or the side of the handle?

Nah, there are no markings of any kind. I gave it a bath. Ill try it out and let you gents know how it went.

Thanks for the tip. Ill shower with it tomorrow. Wow that sounds wierd.

Well i took the brush for a spin today with some Proraso. It built a nice lather. It felt pretty good on the face too, it was a little scritchy however, but had good backbone. Not as scritchy as my shea moisture brush though. Def a keeper.

That is quite the attractive little handle, I'd certainly be pleased with the purchase.

you shoulda haggled with them a bit. mighta saved a quarter, who knows?

Looks a bit like this butterscotch Plymouth of mine.

I just spent twice that on a very mediocre cup of coffee, so i'd say you did well!

I agree I've seen several on the Restore thread that just need a good cleaning and some hair conditioner before being put back into action.
