    Default QCS hard soap

I haven't seen much posted about the new Queen Charlotte hard soaps. I've been really enjoying the cream lately (I consider it a soap, but whatever). Can anyone compare the two?

I can't compare the two b/c I only have the soap. I bought a puck of the Cayman-scented soap shortly after its release. After using it several times, I'm happy to report that it's a quality product.

The lather is thick, protective, stable & easy to make. The tallow/lanolin combo leaves my skin feeling good, post-shave. As for the scent, it smells like a quality bay rum to me. And it's an artisanal product crafted by a member of B&B to boot. What's not to like?

My experience as well! I have the Limes and a Vetyver scented. Both are good performers. Not many vetiver soaps are offered these days and I asked Matt to make me a vetiver scented hard soap. Great stuff

Thanks, all this is what I would have expected, but I haven't really read much on it. Obviously the soap isn't triple-milled, but it's hard enough that it can't be molded into a container, right?

I've been curious about the shaving soap as well and I've been interested in ordering some. So, I don't have any input, but I'm also curious about the performance of the shaving soap.

How can I not follow the topic of yet another shaving product?

I have both the soap and the cream. I actually think that the cream is a better product because the soap isn't as slick as I would like it to be. Don't get me wrong, the soap is good it just isn't as good as the cream. Right now I'm working on a puck of Lavender soap the scent is wonderful, and a couple drops of glycerin right on top of the puck every few shaves make the lather plenty slick for me.

Since it is a tallow/lanolin soap, I have to ask...

how does it compare to MWF?

I used to own MWF. I got rid of it because I'm among those who just couldn't get the damn thing to lather properly. I also couldn't stand the smell.

By contrast, QCS is much easier to lather. It's not triple-milled like MWF but neither is it a soft soap. Works great for me!

+1 to all of the above - MWF QCS soap

I have the QCS Green Irish Tweed type hard soap and it is top notch in both performance and scent.

Well, I get fine lather out of MWF, but if this provides the same type of moisturizing tothe skin, I'm all in. Thanks!

Interesting since I usually find that soaps are slicker than creams. Does the soap have as much cushion as the cream?

The soap is every bit as cushioning as the cream and my face feels great from the tallow and lanolin.

I have MWF and it was a fantastic soap for me, right up until we got a new water tower and then we got a new water heater now MWF doesn't work unless I do a super later. Before the upgrades to our water supply MWF was a really easy soap for me to lather, I didn't get how so many people had trouble lathering it.

Having used the cayman puck for the last couple days, I can say it's a great soap. Due to the way it's made, it isn't as scented as the cream version, but it's still at a good level. (Thank you, Matthew, for explaining that one). YMMV and all that, but the soft soap/cream holds a slight edge for me in terms of cushion and slickness. One bonus is that Matthew's frag doesn't irritate my skin as another bay rum soap does.
