Default Merkur 34C to Feather All-Stainless an Upgrade?

I am relatively new to wetshaving, and currently using the Merkur 34C with Feather blades. This razor is working great for me and after trying different blades, the Feather blades were my favorite.

After reading reviews and posts, I am interested in the Feather All-Stainless DE razor. In your opinion, is the Feather razor an adequate upgrade from the 34C?

It would be an 'upgrade' but it might not be perfect for you. I went from a 33c to a feather AS and while I loved the look and feel of the razor in my hand, the shaves weren't exactly what I wanted. For me to get the closeness I wanted in my shaves, I had to do a 4 pass shave and always ended up with irritation. I ended up ordering a 38c to replace my feather (because I liked the feel of a heavy razor) and I could not be happier.

I don't think the Feather AS would be a upgrade or a better shaver. It is a more expensive razor. It is built of better materials and thus cost more.
