Exclamation Looking forward to switching to a DE shave

Used my dad's DE in the late 60s / early 70s when I was learning to shave. Going back to a DE razor seems like an excellent way to slow down in the morning and save $$ on blades in the process. Kills me to pay the prices for the 3/4/5/(is there a 6) blade cartridges.

    Welcome aboard.

And yes there is a 6 bladed cartridge. You will find it for sale under various house brands in the US. I believe it is made by Dorco of Korea, and when sold under the Dorco name is called the Pace 6.

    Welcome to B&B.

For a good starting off point look at the information at this post. The information there will direct you to where you can get answers to all of your shaving needs. Plus, it’s always a good idea to read the wikis and stickies. And, don’t forget; if you have any questions just ask.

Sounds like a good plan - but remember that DE shaving is a skill like swinging a golf club or doing carpentry. There's a learning curve, you're going to screw it up at first, don't get discouraged, just review the stickies and tutorials here, watch the videos, keep practicing and it'll get better.

PS - you'll get the biggest bang for your shaving buck by switching from aerosol foams to a proper soap/cream. Your skin will thank you!

Cost of cartridges brought me over. Up there in the top corner of the cartridge row was this single, sad looking row of Personna DEs, 10 for $1.79 or so, and I thought, gotta give it a try!
