Patiently awaiting my delivery of Personna Med Prep blades, so in the meantime I loaded up the Merkur HD with a fresh feather blade and lo and behold! - got a BBS with no nicks, cuts, and almost no irritation.

Those are nice blades. Too pricey for me, but very high quality. I don't even want to know how much the Med Prep blades cost.

The med preps actually cost a little less than the the feathers. I have yet to try the med preps but if they're anything like crystals I expect to get more shaves out of the med preps than the feathers.

So far Feathers are my favorites, and in the grand scheme of things, even if they are some of the most expensive new blades, it's not really that bad.
$50 buys me a year of using them for 2 shaves pr. blade, I'm fine with that

I get 2 to 3 shaves out of Feathers--depending on the growth. I learned the hard way not to push these blades. I wish they were a bit less, but I'll still buy them over anything else. Very smooth and sharp blades.

Since first trying Feathers I've used hardly anything else. They slice through my heavy stubble with no tugging at all. I get 3 good shaves from them and considering I can get 100 of them for £20 or so, I consider that cheap.

Just remember the Personna Lab blades are supposed to be the same blade without some final treatment the hospital blades get, and they're much cheaper by the hundred than the Med blades are.
