    Smile Giving this a try.........

Have just ordered some Kinf of Shaves Shaving Oil and also some Witch Hazel as a post shave. I find sometimes that I can't keep a check on what I'm shaving through all th foam on my face As a newbieI'm just trying different things and see what works. On a positive note though I've only been DE shaving a couple of weeks and have noticed that I'm getting a closer shave each time. The negative note is that I cannot ATG shave at all. Not that I'm too worried as maybe in time that will come, XTG is ok. Also Ive found although my face feels softs and smooth after my shave I can still see bristles and it looks like I havent got very close even though by touch I have. Anyone else get that?????
And lastly, how long do you spend shaving?? My routine takes about 12-15mins

I have been DE shaving for a couple weeks too, and I cannot shave ATG either. My routine takes about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes I shave at night to relax.

Shaving oil works well for me. I would suggest applying a hot water dipped wash cloth to your face first though to soften the beard. Once you have the oil on . . . and it takes very little. . . 3-4 drops . . . you can add water to improve lubrication every couple of strokes. It does tend to gum up the blade though.

Bristles showing. Dark hair and pale skin will do this. I have this problem . . . a bit of a Fred Flintstone kinda thing. Looks better once I have a bit of a tan.

Yup, every day I get that dark hair against light skin effect. If I had blond or was totally grey I probably wouldn't see it. So it will correct itself eventually.

Never timed it. It takes as long as it takes, but as a guess probably at least 10 minutes, longer if I do the hot towel routine.
    It's not the bow(s), it's the Indian!
