Simpson's Manchurian?

I keep hearing about Machurian brushes, which I presume were made during the Carter era. What can you tell me about them? Please, fuel my BAD :biggrin1:

I've heard about them too, never seen one in person though...DrP is the only person I know that has a few of these guys...

From original thread here.

The original Manchurians were stamped as Extra Super and available only from from Charles Roberts of Enchante. They were supposedly a super premium grade of hair that was being produced and market exclusively for Enchante.

The name Manchurian had nothing to do with 2 band. Many were two band in appearance because of the longer white tips these brushes had, but the 2 banded coloring was not what designated a brush as Extra Super. I have one of the original Chubby 3 Extra Supers in my collection that personally belonged to Charles. Though I've never used it, it is not 2 band by any means. I keep it only as a display piece.

So other than being very limited and possibly in the collection of Lee Sabini, there is nothing really special or unique about these brushes from a use, not collecting standpoint?

I guess you'd have to wait until one of the few people who owns (or has owned) one of these brushes, and has used them consistently, chimes in.

Everyone else would just be speculating.

"Got Shoes?"
This particular badger hair was so fine that it was virtually indistinguishable to the touch of one's face. It had a feeling as if it was non-existent.

Manchurian badger was the same kind of badger as the two banded super Simpson were using after the Manchurian's were sold out.

Nick, that's what I had concluded a while ago myself, unless you're a serious collector like Peter...from a user point-of-view there are better fish to aim for!
