For this next shot, there was nothing between us but a small hill and about 25 m... He was a BIG BOY. Probably a good 1200-1500lbs.

This is one of my favorites, taken near Lake Lillian in the mountains near Salt Lake City. I actually spent the night a few feet from that rock.

This weird plant is Squawroot (Conopholis americana), a parasitic plant growing from the roots of mostly oak and beech trees. Photo taken in Little Switzerland, North Carolina on May 11, 2013. Camera was a Panasonic Lumix FZ50, photo edited in Lightroom 4.
