Default What I ate last night...

Apparently some kind of shrimp from the Ariake sea.

Weird looking, but very fresh and delicious!

Looks like a balmain bug (a delicious little critter found just off the coast of Australia)

Thanks, that looks like just the little beastie!

I thought it had perhaps landed on some sort of spaceship.....

With enough butter... it'd slide right down.

I bet the shell would raise hell upon exit, however.

My parents used to take us down to N & S Carolina as kids, that thing reminds me of Horse Crab(minus the poker). I don't remember anyone eating them tho'! You are certainly braver than I!!

What the heck is that implement on the side of the dish beside the (nasty looking bug) luscious delicacy? A crowbar?

Any dish that needs carpentry tools to assist in its consumption is sure to be a memorable one.

    Side of the dish?

No, that beast is laying on a three foot long ceremonial white table. That large, stanless steel lance is about a meter long, and when they release the giant Balmain bug into the dining room/arena, you must use it to defend yourself, and find out whether you, or the bug is the one who will be sitting down to supper.....

You can see that the Force was with me that evening, as I got the drop on the bug, and with a single, savage blow I cleaved its' carapace right down the middle, thereby saving myself and my dining companions from the clicking mandibles of doom that this prehistoric monstrosity was baring at us.

Or it may be a small little fork like tool as is often used when eating lobster.

    The lobster pick went clicker-clack!

I split it in two, then drank more brew
    And enjoyed the tasty snack!
