  1. Default Edwin Jagger 89BL Interchangeble parts?

Hi newbie here, I have a edwin jagger 89BL which I dropped, and it now has a a mark on the head. Would the parts fit from another 89BL? As I think there precision parts and cant change the head parts around from another 89BL? Could someone verify please.

Great Forum, Glad i've finally joined

    Thanks

further reading, I've found out that the heads are interchangeble with handles, but are the two pieces of head interchangble? or are they married to each other?

    Default Edwin Jagger . . .

    Yes, Smithyshaver, they are interchangeable.

As an aside, I even have an Edwin Jagger shave head on my Merkur travel razor.

    Regards,

I know that the whole head is interchangeble (ie you can use diffrent handle), but I only have the bottom part of the head to change, so I would have the old handle and old top peice of the head and a new bottom peice of the head. do I make sence? I just was worried there would be discrepancies in the production, and that I should put up with the mark and keep the two head peices together.

If you're buying a new head (for your damaged peice) why not replace the whole head? Seems like the logical solution....

    Welcome to B&B Smithyshaver!
AFAIK your EJ razor head parts are completely interchangable.
Is the damage cosmetic only, or will it affect performance?
I would rather be with the people of this forum than with the finest people in the world.

+1. You can buy just the head at The English Shaving Company for $20-$25.

I bought a damaged one as a spare, the top of it is marked so I cant change the whole head, just gonna swap the bottom peice that I need.

The head parts DO look identical to the naked eye, just one is very slightly squarer that the other.

I had a email from edwin jagger saying the heads are interchangeble.
    Thanks for the replies.

I received an email back from the english shaving company, the answer was, alas, the handles are not available separately. I don't know if that would be different outside of the UK.

Now that is good news cos I can justify buying another cmoplete razor!
