Thayers witch hazel vs witch hazel hydrolate

Since no one in holland sells witch hazel, I decided to order some thayers from vitacost. Still waiting on the delivery. I now have the habit to walk into every drugstore/nature healing store to ask if they sell witch hazel. Last week I walked in this store and they searched through their system for me; bingo! They do have witch hazel, not in stock though. It was witch hazel hydrolate.

I have no idea what that is and what the difference is with thayers. Can Someone enlighten me?

Nice to see a fellow Dutchman on the board. I think the 'Hydrolate' is the way by which the extract is concentrated. You may also have a tincture, which is an alcoholic extract.

Thanks guys!
Think I might order a small bottle of this hydrolate. Do I also apply this with a cotton pad?

Yeah, I personally do it after a hot rinse - works quite like a toner, and then wash it off with a cold one (that's what Mantic59 suggests as well).
