    Default Coles Slant

I recently purchased a real nice Coles Slant and was really impressed with the heft & finish of this vintage branded Merkur razor. If anyone here owns or has experienced this razor please post your feedback, I have gotten some of my closest shaves ever with this slant...

I just got my hands on one two about 2 weeks ago. It's quickly climbing the ranks to become one of my absolute favorite razors. Is yours gold?

I believe it to be the same as my Hoffritz branded Merkur. If that is the case, you lucked out. It's a great razor, close and comfortable.

There's just something about that silver and blue... Awesome set.

I have one and, not a gold one, sorry for not quoting the photo of the 'Hof', nice.

I would agree it's a great shaver. Mine has the white wash and says Coles NY on the handle and Germany in the case. Same Blue felt and white silk screened logo in the lid.

I've seen them compared to the current Merkur slants, but personally feel the vintage ones are a little heavier and well built. The finish seems more luxurious.

Shaves like most other slants available.

I have a couple old Hoffritz that came in travel sets. Hard to find and so nice because they fit on any *most* any handle you have.

I do love the Coles and every time I look at it the mirror finish amazes me.

The finish and heft of the vintage Coles Slant blows away current production Merkur slants, since using this razor all my neck irritation has vanished, coupled with a Bolzano this is DE Nirvana for me...

Thanks for the picture of a primo one - I just found an old one from an antiques store and was wondering why I couldn't get the soap scum off the handle... apparently it's just old enamel! Ha! Can't wait to try it in the morning :)
