    Default Suggest my next cream

I hope people don't get too annoyed by these threads, but I kinds like the idea of trying something that comes within the first few suggestions from the experienced B&B members. Looking from something sophisticated but also with good performance, obviously.

Thus far I have used, and generally loved, the following, AOS-Sandalwood, AOS-Unscented, Real Shaving CO. Shave Cream, Kiss My Face-Cool Mint.

Don't worry, the is enough opinion here to go around a few times. I love TOBS Shave Shop. I think T&H performs better, but not enough to justify the cost difference, for me.

Now that you've had AoS creams you can't go backwards. Try a D. R. Harris, Truefitt & Hill, Acca Kappa are good starts into more luxury creams before you really go in the deep end.

Acca Kappa 1869 in the tub (not tube) would be my first recommendation. Amazing stuff

Any Harris cream (i have lavender and arlington and love them both)

    Trumper Coconut

    and TOBS Avocado

With the addition of the AOS you've already tried, this is what I'd keep if I had to choose between my 20 creams. hehe

Thanks, this exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

Ok, so...I think ill narrow it down some. I think avocado and lime (from any brand) are out for me, sorry guys. I'll also say that I am intriqued most by the English creams at the moment. Anyone have opnions on whether Taylor or Truffett & Hill is a better investment?

As an aside, I desperately want to try the coveted Acqua di Parma (as well as Domenico Caraceni), but the price factor is gonna make that an anniversary or B-Day present. I wouldn't turn down a sample if anyone offers though.

PS: And a big "duh" on the Proraso green tube. How did that slip past me? Not sure how I'll feel about the menthol feelings (not usually my thing), but I think it deserves a try. Its so inexpensive, I might just pick that up tommorrow when I take the wife out B-day shopping. Big thanks to Gatsby for that!

I've probably tried at least 30 creams, including AOS Sandalwood. I'll take several of the TOBS creams over more expensive creams like AOS, Harris, Trumpers any day. I almost hate to admit this, but my favorite cream is TOBS Rose. It's a very soft luxurious cream, gives me my closest shaves and leaves my face feeling great. Tied right now for my #2 are Castle Forbes Lavender and Salter Sublime Citrus.

+1 ... these two should be in everybody's shave den.

I've never tried any TOBS cream, but they get good reviews. I have a tub of Mr. Taylor on the way from a BST deal.

Among the T&H, the only one that really impressed me was the Ultimate Comfort.

I've never noticed a difference in performance between the two brands. I get very close, comfortable shaves with both brands. For me, it's their fragrances that set them apart. I am happy with TOBS Mr. Taylor and Sandalwood. TOBS has smaller containers at a cheaper price per ounce. If you find a fragrance you like in the TOBs line-up, it's a better investment.

I just ordered 2 tubs of T&H online last night. I got West Indian Limes and Tralfager. I just polished off a tub of TOBS Avacado. Cant wait to try out T&H for the first time.

I just shaved with Pen's Blenheim Bouquet the other day and it was quite amazing both in scent and lather.
