Default What a difference a blade can make

I just picked up an '85 black handle SS,tried it with a Dollar General Dorco and looked like I used a cheese grater on my face. Same razor, same prep and same soap, but with a Wilkinson black box and I got BBS with no nicks or irritation. just goes to show its all in the blade. I just dont think those Dorcos are sharp enough in a mild razor, maybe in something more agressive, In the SS I had to keep going over and over trying to get the whiskers cut. With the Wilkinson,3 passes and good to go.

Nice you found a better blade for you! Try a blade sampler for even more fun!

I don't think it is all in the blade. I can get a great shave with any blade and razor combination. Technique is the key.
