  1. Default Micarta G-10 / Scale Blanks?

Hello !! I haven't been on here for awhile so greetings to all... I have a couple straights that I had saved for re-scaling is there anyone out there making scales in micarta or G-10 ? Not looking for anything fancy just want to put together a couple decent straights to take along on my upcoming deployment.

I used the search function and scouted the post didn't seem to have much luck.Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks !!!

Not sure about micarta, but superior shaving has acrylic scales for pretty reasonable prices.

I saw them. Very nice but for some reason I am really intrigued by the micarta look. Awesome scales.

Making your own is not that hard...the micarta works similarly to wood, while the g10 a bit tougher.

I can get actual bare circuit boards, new and unused, with traces showing and no components. These are G10 laminated with copper layers, 4 layer boards, about 1/16" thick. Each board is large enough to produce two or more scales. I think I have about 10 of these. They were designed for an industrial controller and were never populated with components.

I have been meaning to make circuit board scales for a really old straight razor.

    Anyone want one of these?

I've made a couple sets with ghost jade g10, if you look around at knife supply sites (USA Knife Maker, Texas Knife supply, etc...) you might be able to find some thin enough.

Also, not sure what you think of it but I was recently introduced to TeroTuf and I talked with the owner of the company (and bought a few sheets of it, but too thick for razors) and he said they stock pretty much any thickness 1/16" and higher, I'm sure you could get some 1/8" sheets from him, lots of colors to pick from.

    WOW....

All great ideas. I will have to file all the information away.

All my tools are packed away in prep for my deployment, so creating a set of scales is out for now.

I was hoping there where some available that would just be a re-pin....

Thanks again for all your help !
