    Default Corn Toss, anyone?

I am speaking of the game involving the tossing of bean bags, not anything that could be taken as a euphemism for something else.

This is the game of which I speak...er...type.

I have a buddy who introduced me to this game, and it's a blast, as well as addicting. It's also called cornhole around these parts. My friend is a talented artist, and he painted the cornhole boards with some amusing characters presenting their " Targets"
    It lathers like a Howitzer!

Originated in good ole Cincitucky. First time I saw the game was at a family get together with the wife's family Labor Day weekend on the river many years ago. Now you can't go to a tailgate or cookout without seeing it. I miss horseshoes though.

It was fun, but when someone called the game "Corn Hole" most of us lost it

My daughter lives in KY and calls it "Corn Hole". I tried to explain it to her that it must be a generational thing. I still like "Corn Toss".

My original thread title was "Cornhole, Anyone?" Apparently a Mod took issue with it.

That's funny. It's called cornhole. It's been on the news as cornhole. Ive seen it in the paper as cornhole. Ive seen it sold in stores as cornhole. On an adult-based message board, though, corn toss.

Let's just call it what it is:

    CORN HOLE

Yeah, I used to play this decades ago. One of the major toy makers even came out with a similar game called "Toss Across" which is still available (made by Mattel):

I still miss lawn darts, though. Nothing like a lawn dart embedded in someone's skull to liven up a backyard picnic or family reunion!

Love the name of the sport's governing body: The American Cornhole Association

Oh yeah. We had those. Great fun.
I don't ever remember a game where someone didn't yell "Watch out!" and almost get impaled with one.

Frankly, I don't want to be involved with anything that has "corn hole" in it. I like Baggo which appears to be the same thing, so that's what i'll go with.

Grew up in Cinci and played it and horseshoes alot as a kid. Jarts/Lawndarts were fun but the parents figured that one out pretty quick.

Now that I live out here on the colorado river summers are occuppied with various games of cornhole, ladder toss, horseshoes, and pretty much anything other game that can be played in the sun, on the river, in 115* heat while consuming vast amounts of alcohol!

Yep we call it Corn Hole too. Even better is I have a neighbor who made his own ladder toss (PVC pipe and run the string through colored golf balls) and I never played it till then. He calls it (ladder toss) "Horse Nuts"

My bar of choice, Fermentation Lounge, here in Tallahassee, recently picked up a cornhole set and held a tournament. The game is fun and addictive...I am now looking to get my own. I posted because I was curious how many folks on these boards had heard of the game, as it isn't particularly familiar to those of us in Florida (in the Panhandle, at least).
